The whole family will enjoy such attractions as Gator Beach and the Gulfarium. Gator Beach is free of charge and is home to 100 alligators. You can feed the gators in this safe environment and get your picture taken while holding one of these fascinating reptiles. At the Gulfarium, the nation's 2nd oldest marine park, see dolphin shows, and view sea lions, penguins, turtles and more. The Destin History and Fishing Museum is the perfect place for fishing fanatics. Here you will discover the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico with their huge wall display. Examples of the hundreds of fish found in the waters can also be viewed. Don't forget to check out the antique rods and reels, and catch a glimpse of Ernest Hemmingway's original Penn Reel. Destin Events, Entertainment & Things For KidsHeritage Park and Cultural Center is comprised of three museums and is home to the largest collection of southeastern Indian ceramic artifacts. Learn about prehistoric Native American tribes and view the largest Indian mound found along saltwater in the country, located next to the museum. Near to Destin, in Point Washington is Eden Gardens State Park. The main attraction here is the Wesley House which is home to the 2nd largest collection of Louis XVI furniture in the U.S. Guided tours of the house, roaming the beautiful gardens, or picnicking are all enjoyable in Eden Gardens. Florida Caverns State Park, located in Marianna, has the only limestone caverns in the state. Don't miss the amazing stalagmites and stalactites found in these dry caves. Hike, fish, bike, and canoe, and if you are having too much fun to leave, camp out at any of the numerous campsites located in the park. Visit the Sasquatch Zoo in Crestview to see 100 unusual animals or The Zoo in Gulf Breeze to explore the botanical gardens and be amazed by 900 different animals. You can even take a train ride through 30 acres of wildlife preserve.
